Hey Blackcat! I always say that our industry is such where everyone gets to have a place at the table....regardless of age, size or ethnicity. As my Grandmother used to say, "There's a lid for every pot." And believe me, there are plenty of pots/viewers out there that would love to spend their time and money on you. The 60+ year old category is a really popular and lucrative one. Back in the days of IFriends, there was a chathost who was in her mid-70's and was no beauty (I'm being charitable, here). Not someone you'd expect to be successful on cam, right? Well, this gal was in private constantly, and her rates were on the high side. One of my besties, who is also a member of the Sexcamtalk community, is in her 60's, and despite putting on 50 lbs (which I happen to think looks really good on her) is super successful in her camming career. She averages $100/hour consistently, which IMO is a damn good payday.
Although I am not in your age demographic, I am a BBW, so I can speak to the experience of camming while being a person of size. When I first started, I was terrified of taking my clothes off on a public platform, and was convinced that no one would ever want to take a show with me. I even hated self-describing as a BBW, because I thought it would signal to the world that I was "damaged goods", and was somehow less than the other chathosts. Boy, was I wrong! I was engaged in some real "stinking thinking"! The BBW category is a very active, lucrative sector. To use another IFriends example, the chathost who had a stranglehold on the #1 earning spot for years, was internet legend and chathost super star, Taylor Stevens. At the time, she tipped the scales at 300 lbs! What she and my friend have in common, aside from being in so called "marginal" categories, is that they both have fantastic, super friendly, charming, outgoing personalities. In this business, a great personality is way more important than age/size/ethnicity. And you mentioned that you are carrying a little extra "fluff" around your midsection. Girl, that fluff can earn you big bucks! LOL I'm not happy with the layer I have on my belly, but I have a substantial following that really enjoys it (much to my shock and disbelief!), and guys who are into "belly shows" tend to be generous and very loyal. I still have a hard time believing that there are guys who get off on that, but it just goes to prove my Grandma's pot/lid theory. LOL
IMO, GoddessLexy, you are perfectly positioned to achieve super success in this business. And as for me....I intend to keep riding the cam business bicyle until the wheels fall off!
