I understand opening a building door for you but walking to the passenger side door of a car to open it seems like over kill and outdated.
I also hate not paying for my own stuff during the first couple dates. Perfect situation I think is for one person to pay for movies and the other dinner. I just hate when the guy insists on paying both.
To me it feels patronizing and makes the man feel more entitled because of how "nice" he perceives him to be. I've noticed that guys who are so insistent on "being a gentlemen" are bigger assholes than guys who offer to pick up the check but respect your wishes to be equal.
What are your thoughts?
