Backgrounds for camming

As many of you know, I'm new to the forum and fairly new to camming. I broadcast almost exclusively from my bedroom. My walls are painted purple (I know) and I have reasonably nice matching bedframe and nightstand. I usually have a few pillows on the bed for my comfort. Sometimes I will stand next to the bed, and I actually have a nude painting of myself on the wall that a former lover did. So that's good for conversation.

My boyfriend, who helps me with a lot of this stuff, thinks I need to get more of a "planned background" because it will make me look more professional. I don't think this is a bad idea but I'm kind of stumped on what to do.

I work on CB and it seems the only thing anyone does is christmas lights on a string and some fabric. Or maybe a weird colored light in the back.

I also have noticed some models with a lot of followers blur their background entirely. I assume this is somehow done with OBS. What do y'all think of that?

Does anyone have suggestions, and/or what do you use as background for those of you also not working in studios.

I'd say play around with it. Lighting is always #1 priority to me, so as long as you have a decent light source, you're golden. I used to always surround myself with some plants, and a few colourful stage lights to set the mood. I got many compliments on my set up.

For a few months, I showcased the toys I had available, which I found to be both helpful and not. Some guys see a certain toy, then want to tip you/take you private, just to see you use it. On the other hand, some guys get off on seeing the toys, and you don't make anything off them.

Also, when I first started out, I moved my cam spaces almost nightly, so my viewers got to see something different. Some of them liked that, but I think it was mostly the non paying regulars who just wanted to chat. So who cares about them lol.

I sort of like the blurred background look, but I also think "What are they hiding back there?" and my attention wanes. I think the worst set up is a messy bedroom, but sounds like yours is quite lovely!
