So lately I have seen sites saying that you get 100% of the money, we should know it's bullshit. Not only our industry has the worst commissions in the world, but also there's no free lunch.
Porn sites are not charity, they have to make money somehow.
So basically, they are either charging the client a fee over the price you want to be paid or the token value is different for model and client.
For example, a famous clip site says you get 100% of the money for a custom video.
But in reality, when you set up you want 120$ for a video, the customer will pay the 120$ plus a "convenience fee", which makes the video cost, for example, 200$.
In other words, your commission - which is the percentage you get from the money spent on you - is actually 60%, not 100%.
Another example, a famous site says: you get 100% of the money, if you charge 1 coin you will get 1 dollar.
But if you make a client account and try to buy one coin, this coin will cost 3 dollars.
So for a client to buy 100 coins, he needs to spend 300$. Your commission is 30% and not 100%.
Another famous site says you get 100% of the token value. The token is worth 5 cents for the model. But when a client buys a token, it costs 10 cents.
So if your client spends 2000 tokens on you, you get 100$, but he spent 200$. Your commission is 50%, not 100%.
I think these sites are playing with numbers to get models confused and bring their business to them. It's an unfair tactic, in my opinion.
They make you think they are so cool and giving you all that money, but in fact, they work just like any other site.
I have seen friends of mine not getting any business and even losing clients they send in certain sites and don't understand why... after all, they were asking for the same rate they ask in other sites. What they didn't realize that they were not getting 100% for real. That their 5$/min rate for a webcam show actually means 15$/min to the client and although some famous girls may charge that, it's not a reasonable rate for most.
