Getting people to chat on your broadcast

What is the best way to get viewers to chat during live broadcasts?

No matter what cam sites I use, I tend to get a small amount of people watching . But nobody wants to comment and chat. I try to encourage people to not be shy and let them know I like the chat. I also remind my viewers to to follow me and turn on notifications as well as check my profile for more information. However, sometimes I feel it is like talking to a brick wall.

With all this said I am new to the cam lifestyle and just looking for some tips and advice.

I found that if I'm on screen performing then visitors are more likely to not keep scrolling than if I'm just sitting there stroking. Then if I ask what they want to seen and mention their nick/screen name, they'll interact more. But this doesn't always result in tips. BUT it's a way to get people interested and to keep coming back (and hopefully tip more!) and add you to their favorites.
