I found another way to have your content stolen from a post on Nite Flirt

Let me tell you about a post in the Nite Flirt forum that I found today. Theres a flirt that sells a lot of content. She discovered yesterday that someone downloaded a massive amount of her videos from her website without paying for them. She puts the video in zip format and uploads it to her website. She puts the link to the video in a PTV and sells it on Nite Flirt. Someone purchased 1 video and got the download link for that video. This person was able to guesse a lot of the URLs to to her videos from that 1 video and saw which folder it was located in on her website. She's not sure when the person brought the video but knows it was someone on Nite Flirt. The only thing she knows is the IP address is from Canada.

Here is my response to her post:

You need a webhost that allows you to have .htacess files on your server. You need 2 .htaccess files, one file password protects that directory and the othr file has the usernames and passwords. You can use Note Pad to create and edit the files. You save one file as .htaccess and the other file as .htpasswd. Once you do that then you can assign usernames and passwords. Once you do that then you only need to edit the .htpasswd file when you don't want someone to have the username and password anymore. You give member a certain amount of time to download the video. Once the time has passed then you remove that username and password from the .htpasswd file. If the person contacts you saying that they didn't download the file then send them a PTV with the file and charge them whatever you want for it. That's what I would do. Even though you have your own website and don't want to use file manager for your content, you need to have all your content in a password protected directory. Take the time to learn .htaccess if you're going to sell your conten the way you're sell it now. There's a website that I found that you can use .htaccess password generator to generate usernames and passwords.

I forgot to add that if you put index page with this code into all your folders with content in them then someone can't see what's in that directory,
(I use the URL to one of my Nite Flirt listings.)

I put this code in all of my directories that have images and content. It will work as long as you don't have anything with text in that directory. If someone tries to see what's in one of my directories then they get redirected to one of my Nite Flirt Listings. You can use any URL you want.

I'm letting you guys know about this because some cam girls have websites and have their content hosted on their website. I don't think she had the directory password protected because she didn't say anything about it. A lot of chicks sell videos through places like Streamate which means that you have to have those videos hosted on your own website. If you don't have that directory password protected then those guys can pass that link around. I suggested to her that she password protect the directory and assign usernames and passwords to customers and give them a certain amount of time to download the content and when that time expires to delete their username and password. You also need to put a index.html file into all of your folders that have content. Guys can find out what's in the directories on your website. I put a redirect URL into the index.html page of each of my directories. If someone tries to look into my directory to steal my content they are redirected to one of my Nite Flirt listings.

I'm a little surprised that this happened because this chick has been on Nite Flirt for years. I heard about guys being able to see what's in a directory on your website a long time ago and that's why I put that index.html page with the redirect URL into all of my directories.
