Mommy, what do you do for work?

What do you guys tell your kids that you do for a living? When I was just dancing topless, I told my son when he was very young that Mommy dances around in fancy underwear. I didn't want him to ever think I was a liar, so I kind of told the truth. I told my daughted that I worked at the bar bartending, as I did bartend once or twice. I just left it at that. Nowadays, I admit to chatting on a chat line-flirting and selling my fine art photographs as a photographer (true, but still have yet to sell one!)

I had lots of fun with this! Before joining Adultwork, I started doing online psychic readings so I told my daughter that's what I did. I used a PC when I started and one day she caught sight of the Adultwork page and asked me why it was called that and why there was a woman as a logo. I told her I did counselling work (I have a counselling qualification) for adults, who were mostly women. Then she found a movie on my laptop and asked me if they made me go naked on the site...at this point I owned up to what I do! She was 11 years old then and I had always been open with her about sex. She didn't like the idea of my work very much but understood that it was safe and meant that I could work from home, and most importantly for her, not have to rely on childcare with me working long hours in a regular job. I could have done without her telling my mother though!
