newbie question......test groups?

I'm very new to the concept of camming in general and being a cam girl. I'm trying it out with the attitude of having fun and trying to make money on the side. I'm trying to do research and see what works for other ppl. I've heard about making money on doing picture sets and videos. My question is how do you decide what you think is a good idea or a good product or not? I feel really silly because the girl in me says (duh everything is) I guess i'm just afraid of making a video or picture set and it being lame and not very popular. I've considered asking a few of my followers to be test groups. I'll ask them about ideas and preview videos and get feed back on them. I'm in real need of a feedback group or a foster cam girl to help me get footing.
how did you start out?
is it easier to just throw ideas out there and see what sticks?
any advice or warnings?
is my test group idea a bad one? or unnecessary?

What to sell as far as picture sets and videos varies almost daily.
It is hard to figure out what is going to be popular.
about anything you do everyday can be a video that will sell really well.
As far as test groups, I personally wouldn't do it unless those people pay for it too. You can ask them if they think something would do well but I would not send them a sample unless they pay for it. That is just my opinion, but I just refuse to do anything for free.
