There's a guy I know who produces porn for his own sites (he has about five or six currently); it's high quality stuff with a hell of a lot more production value than I'm used to seeing in most studios, and much more interesting than the run of the mill fuck-n-suck stuff. He has a crazy amount of traffic going on (his preview clips on sites like youporn and xtube usually generate between 1-55k views) and the earnings he's shown me are staggering.
Anyway, to the point: he has offered me the lead model position on a new site and ownership of 40% of the site and revenue. He wants this to be a partnership where I'd contribute ideas, scripts and actual performances. I have no financial liability for site startup: all I have to pay for is getting my ass to location and wardrobe.
I talk to this guy daily, he seems more interested in making good product and $$$ than getting into my pants. More than that, I love HIS ideas and that he'd be letting me put MY ideas into action with some actual high-quality equipment.
So far, I have all of this in writing, and I have my first shoot scheduled for next weekend (5 scenes: 3 for the sites and 2 for me to use on my own). My biggest concern is that I won't be getting paid on a shoot-to-shoot basis like I'm used to, but instead would be making 40% of total site revenue. Also, there would be a huge visibility factor while doing some really taboo acts that doesn't really compare to how (in)visible I am just camming. Since I've never dealt with this kind of situation before, I want to know if any of this raises flags to anyone???
I'm figuring that the worst case scenario would be if the site deal falls through or doesn't make that much. But even then, I'd still be getting to do some cool scenes of my own and play around with some spiffy cameras/lighting/editing programs.
Thanks to anyone who has any insight!
