Saw this on tonight's news.
A local high school assistant bandleader was recently outed, and now on leave from her job, for being in adult entertainment (MFC's model)
I thought I'd post it as an example, that once we're 'outed', our videos and social media are floating through the interwebz, pretty much forever.
The news story shared her Twitter name.
Of course she shut down her Twitter and all associated accounts right away.
But all I had to do was Google search her Twitter name melodyxxxtune to find a long list of (pirated) videos which she cannot take down, so they're there for her students, and her employer's review board to see. There's even a youTube video (not scandalous in itself, but certainly not 'wholesome goodness' we expect from our teachers.) It was recorded by one of the guys at the Exxxotica show; video taped her at the show, posted it to youTube with her Twitter name attached in remarks. That's up there forever, unless she can contact him to ask him to remove the video *sigh*
All this public internet content is all very damaging to her case, trying to keep her job of 8 years with a UNION school district. Basically, she's probably going to lose her mainstream job and all the benefits associated with it. And when future employers check the internet to find her social history, they're going to find stories about her time as a teacher, and this entire series of events.
Personally, I'm thinking that she probably shouldn't have taken down her Twitter feed. It has all her followers & customers. She's going to need them when she losses her job and needs to cam full time.
