Over a year ago I was anti-Skype mainly out of ignorance. I took a year to try it on various platforms (with the encouragement of great friends on this forum and now? I rarely log onto the big sites. And when I do it's to catch a few of the fetish guys looking for particular kinks.
Skype is only a portion of my income. My other income is content sales and phone sex. Sure my rates are lower, but I keep more of the money than I did on the big sites. Once my session is over I'm free to do other things, come back and get online again when I'm ready. AND I'm not penalized for it. Very flexible this way.
Jess, to answer your question about where traffic comes from, I use Twitter, independent cam sites and my sexblog to get my customers. I've only converted one or two customers from big sites over the Skype.
