Skype Shows = Main Source Of Income?

I'm wondering if Skype shows are really starting to take over as the #1 source of income now for other camgirls. That certainly is the case with me, despite my lengthy 17 years in the industry and having been through just about every site out there or having tried them all at least once. Some,I signed up to and worked on for several years, while others remain a one-night affair. Basically, tried it once, saw no potential and never bothered to return.

I never would have imagined I would see the day where Skype show income exceeds what the big sites offer. Shocking in some ways but in so many other ways, it just all seems part of a new model and mindset us 'veterans' have become suspicious of, as trends begin to shift more toward a lowering of our income, greater theft of content and an overall arrogance in the way we are treated by these sites.

What are your experiences, if you ladies don't mind sharing?

Right, can't agree more. IMO it's far more convenient too, I don't have to sit that long in my room rabbiting about my gold show for instance cause I'll have somebody who will just msg me on skype and I know he/she is more interested than those freeloaders.

The drawback is that I've become a bit lazy. Sometimes just wonder how come I had that much patience while broadcasting. Or maybe I'm far more confident now (I mean, can see now who's gonna buy the show and who deserves 'f**ck off bb' and a block) and just know how it all works.

Anyway, Skype is an excellent tool. I can be watching TV stuffing myself with crisps wearing a pajama, at the same time knowing that within this hour or two somebody will get the show with me, I just got to have my laptop on and tell I need extra 5mins to get ready. While on cams, I wouldn't be able to do it and I usually felt like I was missing out something.

The bulk of My Skype clients come from indie listing sites and through My blog/twitter. Converting big-site clients is iffy business and not something I try to do.
I prefer Skype sessions, but they are not without flaws. Payment processing. Connectivity issues. Guys who don't respect after-session boundaries.
I work on SM a lot - and y'all know the hefty chunk they take out of our earnings. There are times when it hardly seems worth it. Recently, I saw them post a tweet that said something like "Payout % is not important. Paying traffic is important." I disagree. I think it's an amalgamation of both that contributes to overall camgirl success.
What's working for Me is a hybrid schedule of both indie (Skype) and bigbox camming efforts.
