I know I am new here and I have read some of the other topics on this but there seems to be some things I feel I can offer. I mainly deal in blogging and twitter and some tumblr. First off is to set each of these up you want ideally your twitter, tumblr, and blog to match your brand name whatever that is. The reason for this is you want your name to rank high on google. So lets say you are broadcasting with one site but want to move to another if your brand name MATCHES your screen name your guys can always find you no matter where you go. I am going to go over the basics of social media here and do others for blogging. First off social media is about being SOCIAL!!! Your goal is 80 entertainment and 20 percent selling. We do not always hit this but that is our goal. Second off being social means interacting with others in your field so yes you need to follow that girl that is your competition. The more people you interact with the higher your ranking and the more clout your brand has. Also guys will follow multiple girls and they will find you off of other peoples stuff. Be FRIENDLY!!! I dont care if you have the biggest ass twat you have ever met do not engage just block and move on. Negativity is the worse thing you can do we all do it when we start out but it hurts us in the end. TALK to people let them come to you and ask about your product they will do this and if they do not someone close to them will. Each social media attracts a different sex, age group, and demographic. I will try and post some stuff on this later. I currently only use twitter but there is nothing inherently wrong with the others I just do not have enough hours in a day. A good scheduler is your very best friend I use tweet deck but there are many other really nice ones that are both free and pay.
Lets talk about what to tweet. Remember that 80% rule well here is where a schedule and a plan is so important. I take a piece of paper and make columns down it for each day of the week. The first thing I do is make a week of tweets that are at a time when I am not on this is my free stuff. I do jokes, pictures, memes, youtube videos there are tons of things you can use here just get creative. Then I do a week for each site I run so I will do one for NF (niteflirt) I will run them for stuff I am selling at a time I am on and my products at a time when I am generally NOT on. For my free stuff I do gifs, free movies, other flirts, etc. I do four days of fluff and 3 of selling. For EVERY site at a different time of the day. I do not do follow back friday. (I do not have anything against it I just tweet quite a bit and again not enough hours in a day). For my fill in stuff I read the news every day and post stories from there or just something off the top of my head. I retweet anything that mentions me as much as I can sometimes I just miss it. Social Media is about selling who your character is. None of us are us online we are all a little exaggerated. The biggest thing about social media is consistency this is where pre planning is the key. Sit down plan it all out and then spend a day putting it up. The payoff is watching your followers grow with real people who actually care about what you have to say. I do not care what social media you choose to use pre planning is key to them all.
