Telling possible bf about camming...

So I've talked to this guy a lot and gone on a few dates with him. He is very sweet to me and in general, like as a job he takes care of the mentally disabled.

I have no idea how to tell him I cam for a living. He thinks I am a nurse which I do have a degree for. We live in the midwest so there are a lot of conservative values here. He is not religious or anything so that is a good sign. No one but my ex knows I cam.

I've told him I'm not ready for a relationship because my last one was really toxic which is true. He has said that is fine and he will just wait until I am. I did not expect that response lol. We are not physically intimate.

On one side I feel like a girls allow to have her secretes you know? I'm not committed to him, and he still is a stranger to me. People put on a good front for at least several months so why should I trust him anyway?

On the other hand he has been sweet and understanding so far and I feel bad for not letting him know.

it's interesting how everyone advises to keep it as a secret for as long as possible... in my experience it's always the 1st thing that comes up :"what do you do for a living?" and for me it's also a way to tell them apart : those who are not ok with it are not a good match for me so i move on. I don't see the point to try to have a relationship with someone , grow feelings for them and when they find out the truth they could back off, not necessarily because they are not ok with it but because they feel they have been lied to.
I don't even see how this could be kept a secret..even if you have a "cover" occupation..many things will not seem right...you don't actually leave the house to go to work, you put make-up on to stay inside..like..things that someone u spend some time with will notice..
we have a saying in my language that translates to "lie has short legs" ..you can't go very far if you base a relationship on a lie.
