So I'm still fairly new to Myfreecams and will have clients offering to "help" me from time, claiming they know all the secrets about how to be a success on there. Sometimes the things they tell me are legitimately helpful (like the very first time I was on there was someone trying to trick me into thinking he was giving me tips when he wasn't really and someone pointed that out to me), but sometimes it seems pretty obvious that they're trying to scam me.
There was a guy tonight that I'm pretty sure was in the latter category, because he said several things that didn't make any sense (like telling me I should get rid of my whiteboard, which I actually find really useful, and then refusing to explain why beyond saying it would "conflict with the other suggestions he had"), but there was one thing he mentioned that I would actually potentially be interested in if there was a way to do it. I'm not sure if there is though.
He told me that I wasn't using "filters" to require a tip before someone is allowed to send me a PM. Is this a real thing? Because I can find nothing whatsoever about it in any of my settings or on the MFC wiki. All I see is the option to only allow friends to message me, which it says probably isn't a good idea and I agree.
But the thing is it does just get overwhelming to try to juggle a million PMs at once and in addition to trying to interact in the room itself, particularly when clients start being superdemanding asking why I haven't answered them yet, which happens a *lot.* So I would maybe be interested in such a feature, but I just can't find any evidence that it actually exists? Was this guy totally bullshitting me? And if so, does anyone have some sort of suggestion for how the hell to not end up drowning in a flood of PMs every time I'm on? I know I could just tell people I won't answer unless they tip me, but I tried that once before and everyone was like "Wait what?"
