Feeling you might lose out is the stress that guys put on you in order to get stuff for free or cheap. They say "so and so does it for free", "model x does that cheaper than you", "that other model will do it if you won't". This is bullshit. Those guys have an attitude of entitlement which has been exploited and encouraged by the free chat sites which make bank from it.
What cams were you checking out? If it was mfc then you have probably fallen into the same trap most of us did when we were new, that is to see some of those girls making loads of money in free shows, so you think that's the way to succeed on there. What you don't see is that those girls have built a massive following over years and years on the site, or from off site porn/ modelling work, or they have large promotional teams behind them. They ARE making bank. But those girls are only a very small minority, and the guys actually paying them are an even smaller minority (maybe 1 - 5 guys while everyone else watches for free). For every 10 girls making money like that, there are 1,000 more doing everything under the sun in their room for crowds of over 1,000 and making NOTHING!
I would recommend not looking at the top girls on those sorts of sites until you are more established and have your own groove. instead, put on some clothes and makeup that make you feel good, play some music that gets you in the mood, surround yourself with items that are "you" and will help guys form ideas about your persona. Get into a regular schedule and show up every day so people start to know when to expect you. This way you'll build up regulars who actually like you and who want to get to know more about you.
If you're intent on sticking with tipping sites be prepared to put this sort of effort in for a good few weeks, maybe even months, without making very much back at first. It will take time to build up x
