Zoom on Webcam

I have just bought a C922 for camming. It's my first webcam and I have bought it just for this purpose. It seems to work without the software but will I need that to zoom in and out?. What other features will the software give me?. I didn't really want anymore software unless I have to because my laptop already isn't fast.

Hey, i have the same camera and in the beggining i used software a lot, is useful always to set up some things that will make your appearance looks much better on cam, for example i am very tan but for some reason i was looking very pale on camera so ive adjusted brightness and colour and gots great, i will not tell you how i set up my camera because i think is very personal and depends about lots of things like if you have softboxes or not, if you have natural light, the colours of your room so i think the best advice is you opening your cam software just once to set up everything and try effect by effect till gets perfect for you.
