My boyfriend and I got into this to make some extra money. We do shows as individuals and as a couple. We have not been Very successful at getting views to tip. I feel like we are missing something. Many views want private chat we put a stop to that because it takes away from other viewers. Many views want to meet in person. I as an individual have more results in private shows and have to restart

Don't get frustrated! Come up with a schedule and stick to it. Interact with people in your channel. And don't just sit there...be active. Yes, not tipping means it could end up as a free show, but think if it as advertising. Also don't be afraid to use social media to promote yourself (use those hashtags!).
