Many of you may have already had to deal with being "verified" for a personal page that bears your stage/cam model name. Not fun. Some have had their page permanently shut down, losing possibly years of hard work and thousands of loyal fans. Many of you have had to put your birth name on your page which we all know is a HUGE security risk for us! But, I made it through the whole process and have come out triumphant with stage name intact. I will tell you how I did it.
1. REGISTER your stage name as a DBA (Doing Business As) in your town.
This is easy! I simply went to my town hall and filled out a piece of paper stating my business/fictitious name and paid a fee of $15. It was then a legal registered business name.
2. GET a bank account in that name. It will have to be a business account but you can now do this since your stage name is a legal business name. Make sure you also get a debit card that has that name on it. (It will also have your Birthname on it but we'll talk about that later.)
3. GET a P.O. Box with that name on it and have mail sent to that name. ANYTHING. Sign up for a free newsletter, etc. But make sure it's addressed to your stage name.
4. GET paid by check under that name. Take a photo of the check prior to depositing it. (You can only do this if you've already got your bank account set up with that name. Otherwise you can NOT cash that check!)
5. The verification process: Hopefully you'll never be caught but it's bound to happen at some point. Your account may be frozen and you'll have to send certain documents that verify who you are. There are three options and you need to choose option 3. Here is the link to what you may provide for verification.
What you need to do is:
A.Take photos of your Debit Card and blank out the numbers AND your birthname so that only your "Authentic name" (aka your legally registered stage name) is showing, your bank statement, again, blanking out everything but your "authentic name", Mail sent to your "authentic name" or a paycheck paid to your "authentic name." All of these are acceptable.
B. THIS IS IMPORTANT SO PAY ATTENTION..... Take a photo of your driver's license or passport and blank out your NAME and ADDRESS and if your DOB isn't the same, blank that out, too. If not, you can leave it because it will help with verification. LEAVE your photo because this is what FB will use to match to your pics on your profile. In that link that I've provided, they try to trick you into thinking you have to leave your birth name showing on your state id. You DO NOT. And if you read carefully, it says, "one additional ID that includes a DATE OF BIRTH or PHOTO that matches the information on your facebook profile." it does NOT say that you have to include any other information on that id. DO NOT blank out parts of your id that prove that it's a valid id from your state or country. Then you may have a problem.
Even after providing two items with my "authentic" name and my id with only my photo showing, I still received an email requesting more documentation. I was able to provide photos showing more things like mail being sent to that name, a paypal acct. with that name, etc. But it also gave me an opportunity to tell them that I followed their exact instructions for providing sufficient proof of my "Authentic Name" and even had my attorney check it to make sure I was doing it correctly. This seemed to work and my profile was back up within 24 hours of that email. Perhaps it was the mention of an attorney that did the trick. That usually motivates people. LOL
Hopefully this document will help a few of you. I was SO stressed out about this because I had had my profile for over 5 years and had built up a large group of very devoted strip club friends and regulars on there that would have been GONE if I hadn't been able to verify my page. Obviously, the time to register your stage name and get your other stuff in order is NOW, before your page gets frozen. Then if and when it does and you have to verify your "authentic name", you'll be ready and can get your page back within a few days. Good luck!
