Cable Lighting On The Cheap

I have been wanting to fixx the horrible lighting problem in my cam room. I have been "getting by" but I hate the way the one-sided lighting looks on me so I have had to use makeup to kind of fake things. Still, at this point, I need to try and fix the problem again now that I am getting a bit more cash flow.

For me, my cam room is quite small overall. So, Id like to avoid using any sort of floor light or lights that have to be set on a shelf (cuz I dont have shelves in the places where I need to put a light). For the sake of saving my room's space, Id love to have something akin to cable lighting. It would really help to string up 2 of the 4 corners of my room with these and allow the lighting to be movable upon the track.

Problem is, cable lighting is quite expensive. Can anyone suggest a DIY way of creating this kind of compact lighting? I have checked with the house owner and I can nail in/screw in things like shelves and lights so thats not a problem. Just need to find a way to work around the way this 1940s style house built its bedrooms. Love to know what asshat thought it woudl be a good idea to put two lights in my camroom .....on the same side of the room.

Depends on what you mean by expensive... They have LED video/photo studio lights that come pretty "cheap" for what they provide these days... Low end of the battery-only ones starts at $40, up to $120-150 for a really good value light.

It's a bit of a rabbithole if you start researching them, but this is a powerful (but dimmable) option, that comes with a flexible stand/tripod:

If you have any photographer/videographer friends, they might also be good to ask as far as easy/cheap lighting for a small space, that doesn't take up much room.
