Can someone explain what experience points are?

Tried searching the forum to figure out what the experience points are all about and couldn’t find anything, so apologies if this is a stupid question... but how are experience points used? Is it like a ranking or are these points something you redeem? Sorry if this is a stupid question ?

you're meaning like camscore ex? or do you mean when you go to cash check and they tell ya that the store doesnt have enough ex pts? that happened to my gf who used to cam i used to have to cash her checks.... sorry if im off topic...!
