You need to be ok with opening part of your life to the internet and people watching. Once you create a web cam or any other adult social type of site profile, you must be okay with websites like Google screen capturing your content (images, video etc.) even though you might not realize it. I say this because once you go live for the first time, there is certain things that cannot be undone like I mentioned above. As far as going live, just be yourself, no need for lots of fancy equipment. Just start simple and focus on building a small fan following.
