Guys using multiple accounts?

So when I'm streaming, a new name will pop up and they'll say "hey its [username] we were talking before this is my other account"

Am I right to think its odd for one guy to have 2 or more accounts on the same site? Or is this a normal thing?

I'm just wondering if I should still entertain these people or if they're probably doing it for scamming reasons or whatever.

I guess that depends on the website, On LJ members may have more than one account. Some guys may pretend to be one of your paying customers... even guys who come in pretending having been in private with you... trying to scam. It's very easy to figure it out when you know your customers.
