I went through something that I'm still a little wigged out by yesterday morning.
At the start of a private show and I go to plug in my Magic Wand, when there's this surprise zap and the power goes out in my living room. I'm sitting there, confused and surprised and like, "Awww shit, I'm missing out on money right now." But, the show must go on, I don't stop and figure out what happened, just figured it was some weird glitch, go into my bedroom (where my other computer & cam live), and set up as fast as possible.
I go to plug in the Hitachi and snap/fizzle/the smell of burning electronics and ALL the power in my apartment goes out. That fucking vibrator! My favorite vibrator! The only one I'm in love with! That fucker!
About a month ago, I noticed the wiring had became exposed from general wear & tear, at the spot where the cord joins the device. But I didn't stop and think about it---------if this has happened to you, stop and think about it, please.
I bought that Wand 7 years ago (summer of 2007). It's my second one, the first I left in a moving box somewhere....who knows where.
So, I was wondering how long do these vibrators last?
Looked around and found the horror stories on Reddit. The stories where the cord comes loose and start a fire. A FIRE. It's still plugged in and the hero has to do some drastic shit to get it unplugged, while in bed, or on the couch, etc. This happens quite a bit. Fires.
One resolution I see is that if you notice the wire coming loose from the base you can add a more sturdy vacuum cleaner cord or extension cord.
How long has your Magic Wand lasted and how did it die?
