I am ashamed to admit it, I got scammed tonight.
I noticed someone asking about how to spot a scam in chat recently. A thread dedicated for that purpose would be a good idea.
1) Receive payment first and verify it that it is legit.
If it is a virtual Amazon gift card, confirm and load the balance onto your account immediately.
2) If they say they bought something off your wishlist, ( I don't do this ever) do not provide services until you have the item in your hand.
3) If it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
4) If it is a method of payment that you are not familiar with, don't accept it.
