You can use whichever you choose, personally I like the software. I find it more organized and I don't have to worry about my browser crapping out on me.
But... I'm also attracted to different, so since every other site now has an browser broadcaster, I want to use something different if I decide to go on MFC.
The browser broadcaster works just fine though when I use it. There's not a lot of difference, everything is there, just displayed a little differently. Try them both out. See which one you like best.
OH! I'm not sure if they've fixed this or not but, don't leave the broadcaster logged in if you are not camming or organizing skype shows for tips. It affected my cam score pretty badly back in the day and I couldn't repair it. So I rarely go on MFC anymore.
