You can't deactivate free chat, but you can make your pvt and C2C rates lower and you will be busier. I did that when I first started and I was not in free chat much!
I can only speak for myself and say if I'm doing stuff in public, it's because I want to, not because I feel I have to. I set goals. When they're reached, I make good on them. I don't do stuff for free. I do multiple small goals so that they're attainable, and it keeps my room moving and interesting.
Big Pro: The new model period is 15 DAYS!!! Unheard of!!! You have two weeks to cam your ass off and BRING IT. I've been there three months and have had more success in that short amount of time than I ever did on MFC and CB combined. I know a lot of that was learning from my mistakes, and not necessarily site flaws, but the platform, the kickass support, the members... 10 out of 10 for me.
