I'm terrified of taxes. I need help.

I started camming last January, and I just.. I didn't even think of taxes. I knew/know practically nothing about them. I haven't saved any money or set any aside, I've only been barely making it after paying rent and bills for two people and two cats. I don't know what to do.
So I guess April 15th is the tax day? Is that the deadline for sending them in (which I have no idea how) or when you're supposed to?
I'm seriously so scared. I don't want to be prosecuted or thrown in jail because I didn't have enough money to pay.
I can't afford a tax attorney, but I'm going to have to find a way to.
I've read online that there are things that you can write off, and then I've read that you can be audited by writing the same things off.

My parents never taught me this, I didn't learn it in school, and now I'm practically fucked. I'm having an anxiety attack.

Please help me with any tips you have or anything helpful at all!

if you made under ten thousand you don't have to file. The other person you speak of is this a child or bf? So far it doesn't sound like you need to be scared and definitely not going to need a tax attorney Of course you can't claim your cats. (i know, sounds stupid to say but people have tried it!LOL) Just chill, hon. You're working yourself up. I don't want to be nosy and ask what you have made. Also, if NEED BE the IRS will work out a payment plan.
