Makeup necessities

I know I need to add to my makeup. I have only ever used basic makeup, foundation, powder, blush, eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara. Im really not sure on doing my makeup to look good on cam or to highlight and contour. I have been watching videos and reading, trying to learn. I couldn't even tell you my face shape. I gave a face, this I know. Lol.
Since I am working on my makeup I was wonder what type of products and tools do I need to try to get. I'm not looking for brands just types that I need.
