So, e gift cards are great and I prefer receiving them, but the truth is some guys want to get you tangible gifts, thinking it's more romantic like and such. Now, I'm not talking gifts as payments, just gifts as gifts, the former is a terrible idea as we all know from fake and canceled orders. So while searching around here to see what some of you ladies and gents are doing I see people recommend getting a PO box since they're cheap, you can get them a city over, yada yada.
A regular PO box is a terrible idea!
It is pretty easy to get your real info from a PO box, the USPS will disclose your real name as it's considered public record. Now let's say you take the extra step of getting a DBA or LLC and opening a box under that, nope. All that is public record as well and a quick search will give them both your name and home address. If a stalker is interested in getting your personal deets they likely know all this and will go through the minimal trouble. Years ago I had a friend whose custie showed up at her front door. She used a PO box and he still found her.
Private mail boxes, like UPS, may be expensive but will not disclose your personal details. A somewhat cheaper option is a mail forwarding service. Think I'm going with maillinkplus in Vegas. If you email the owner he'll attach your cam name to the box and he has been doing this for cam girls and porn stars for years. Monthly rate with them is cheap, shipping comes out to more than it's represented on the site, but isn't too bad of you're willing to wait till you get a little haul and consolidate your packages. My bf offered to put a PO box in his name for me, if you have someone willing to do that, that doesn't care about the possibility of someone showing at their house, maybe, but I don't want to take the chance even if he swears he ain't scurred.
