Best years of the internet?

I was thinking the other day, damn, the web today fucking sucks. Then I thought, well, that's not true, it's always sucked. It just use to suck in a different way.

What in your opinion are the best years of the web? I say 2003-2011. I just got DSL, so it wasn't slow as shit anymore. And before that it wasn't really infected by sites like Facebook and mobile focused operations. Back then the web was less sanitized and less centralized. Internet Jani's working overtime these days.

For nostalgia, I would say the mid 00s were more fun because of the aol chat rooms and such. But obviously the net is far more realible today so I much prefer it to the old days.
