DDOS attack on Adultwork

For those of us who work on Adultwork, I couldnt' get on the site this morning so popped over to the forum to see if there was any news. Apparently they've had a 'DOS attack' I've no idea what this is but they say it's meant to bring a site to it's knees. Now I can't open the forum page either so a bit worried.
Anyone got more news on this?

A ddos attack is an easy way to paralyze a website. Hackers do this by using lots of (drone)computers to access the site, or sign up to the site at the same time. Most servers can't handle this stress, which leads to a server going down. Most of the time the damage is not permanent but it can take some time to get the server up and running again. Ddos attacks are very annoying and easy to do. You don't have to be a wizkid to use it and that's why it happens quite often.
