Something else to be concerned about in the cam biz.....

Identity theft and security is now always a concern to me. I used to register for a site using my state issued drivers lic that also included my address. Yea, I snapped a dig w my lic next to my face.

This can be so risky as our exact location will be out in cyber land. ID, of course, is necessary but now I only use my Passport that is a valid ID but w/o my exact address or even my State.

I tried to reg for LJ awhile ago, using my drivers lic. Somehow(?) my ID got out. Seems they are not located in the US and their security is perhaps lax. Reg never went through but shit followed.......who needs this?

i think i whited out the address. it just had my name and date of birth. makes it a little bit tougher to get traced. not impossible, but tougher. I get why they want IDs, but it can be a double-edged sword.
